Endorse Nathan Vasquez for Multnomah County District Attorney

PORTLAND, OR—We are at a crossroads. From Multnomah Falls to the West Hills and everything in between, our community is demanding solutions to visceral and often deadly crises playing out on our streets. As a coalition of first responders, we are uniquely positioned to see the tragedies of a beleaguered public safety system play out every day.

Our public safety system clearly needs new energy and direction. One of the central cogs to that system is the District Attorney. This spring, Multnomah County voters have the opportunity to elect a District Attorney who has the leadership, vision, and experience to provide real-time change on our streets.

Nathan Vasquez is uniquely qualified to be our District Attorney. He has unmatched experience in everything from high-profile felony cases to low level prosecutions, along with working on complex public policy issues surrounding drug use and property and person crimes. He knows what is needed to establish a public accountability system that provides justice for crime victims using a fair but firm hand. He also has demonstrated leadership and empathy through the most difficult crises our community has faced.

Nathan Vasquez is the clear choice for District Attorney in Multnomah County in 2024. The Gresham Police Officers’ Association, Multnomah County Deputy Sheriff’s Association, Portland Police Association, Portland Fire Fighters Association IAFF Local 43, and Gresham Professional Firefighters’ IAFF Local 1062 collectively represent nearly 2,000 law enforcement officers, firefighters, dispatchers, and other public safety professionals who respond to most emergencies in our county.
